STATE  HOUSE, Freetown, 22nd May, 2013/— His Excellency Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has said that Sierra Leone belongs every citizen. He made this statement during a courtesy call on him by a cross section of the Fullah community in the country.

The courtesy call came in the wake of the recent conferment of the award of the Order of the Rokel on Alhaji Borbor Bah, by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone during this year’s Insignia and Awards and Reception ceremony, in recognition of his singular efforts in actualizing government’s aspirations in promoting the private sector.

“It is just a gesture to Alhaji Borbor in recognition of his efforts as a Sierra Leonean, who has made efforts towards state governance in Sierra Leone”, said President Koroma.

Acknowledging the role of the community in national development, President Koroma said Fullahs are fully involved in the governance of the country.
He also said government has restored confidence in the people so that the lives of every citizen can be better again, and therefore encouraged members of the Fullah community not to hesitate in carrying out their commercial activities, as Sierra Leone is owned by every citizen of the country.

On behalf of elders of the community, Alhaji Monoma Bah profusely thanked President Koroma for giving more recognition to the Fullahs, and vividly recalled how they wrested constituency three (3) in Kissy-Teng and Kissy Bendu, in Kailahun from the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party in last year’s general elections.

Women’s representative Fatmata Momoh said Fullahs have stood by their words and will remain in full support of the government of President Koroma, particularly for the good things he has done for their community, coupled with the total inclusion of their kinsmen in his government.

Ahmed Tejan Bah on behalf of the Fullah community youth, expressed profound appreciation to President Koroma for the inclusion of Fullahs in his government, and for the promotion of the entire business community in the country.
