SLPP man confesses : ‘The APC Media is outperforming us ‘

By Titus Boye-Thompson :

Recently I suggested that the APC is out-performing the SLPP on media strategy together with dissemination, and overall coordination and coherence of APC’s propaganda machinery.

It is just about forty eighth hours ago since Jarrah posted EBK’s speech below. Since then we have also seen the posting from Titus declaring EBK’s “Agenda For Change” a “resounding success.” The intriguing aspect, to my mind, is not the claims contained in both postings, but their mere existence — a distinct and constant reminder — of what the party claims as its achievements. In terms of media and dissemination strategies, I give the APC an “A” grade.

Nothing is visible as a “response” from the SLPP Rapid Response Team (if there is one). With less than sixty days to go before Sierra Leoneans elect either EBK or JMB, there is “yaing!” from the SLPP in a well-coordinated manner regarding EBK’s last five years in the two recent postings referred to here, visible in the APC camp. If there is already a well-coordinated and disseminated response and I missed it, please forgive me. If not, is there a SLPP Rapid Response Team working 24/7 on the issues brought forth by APC in the last forty eight hours? If there is such a team, then it should drop the word “Rapid”, because it has taken it too long, if indeed it has not responded.

Messages on issues fashioned and communicated by both parties through their respective propaganda machinery would determine to an extent why there is a need for continuity or change. APC is ahead of the game for continuity. The airwaves in Sierra Leone were doused with congratulatory messages and a celebration in favour of continuity following EBK’s address. This does not mean that everyone agreed with EBK’s claims. He, however, presented a case for continuity. In the meantime, change still requires a lot of sustainable energy to move its machinery forward.
