FIFA bans Rodney Michael from all football activities in Sierra Leone
By Chernor Ojuku-Sesay :
The world football governing body, FIFA, has issued a letter to the Sierra Leone Football Association, banning one of the aspirants for the Presidency of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Rodney Michael from all football activities in Sierra Leone.
FIFA further called on the Electoral body of the Sierra Leone Football Association to enforce Article 25 of the FIFA code of Ethics to its fullest.
With particular reference to Mr. Rodney Michael, FIFA’s letter states that “after carefully perusing the documents on the protest against Rodney Michael for the SLFA Presidency, he (Rodney) clearly contravenes Article 25 of the FIFA Code of Ethics”.
This letter from FIFA, will come as a shocker to Rodney Michael and team, who were adamantly advancing mediocre arguements in relation to the interpretation of the said Article 25.
When I first highlighted this issue on my FB page, Rodney and cohorts were up the moon raining all sorts of insults and interpreting the said code to suit their comfort. Now, FIFA, the drafters of the code have spoken, and it’s final.
Rodney Michael is working for a football betting company in Sierra Leone, Mercury International. He should therefore not take part in any activities involving football. It is against Article 25 of the FIFA Code of Ethics.
